My Cellar

A wine cellar that lives on your phone.

Bring your cellar with you

Last checked 20 September 2026

If you already keep a wine list somewhere, you should not have to type it again. My Cellar reads a CSV file and adds the wines to your cellar.

This page is the practical part: where the export button actually is in each app, what the file looks like when it arrives, and what happens on our side.

From Vivino

The export lives on the website, not in the phone app. That is the part most people get stuck on.

  1. Open vivino.com in a browser and sign in.
  2. Click your profile picture, top right, then Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the settings page. There is an option to export your cellar list.
  4. Vivino emails you a .zip file. It can take a while.
  5. Unzip it. Inside there is a file called cellar.csv. That is the one you want.

The zip is the step people miss. My Cellar reads the .csv inside it, not the zip itself, so unzip it on your phone or mail the csv to yourself first.

From CellarTracker

  1. Sign in at cellartracker.com in a browser.
  2. Go to your cellar list and choose the option to download or export it.
  3. Pick a comma separated or Excel format and save the file.

From any other app, or from a spreadsheet

Most cellar apps have an export somewhere in settings, and any spreadsheet can be saved as CSV. You do not need to rearrange the columns first. Save the file, open My Cellar, and tap Import from a file.

What the file needs

Very little. The importer is deliberately forgiving, because the file you have was written by someone else's app.

Only the wine name is required. A row without one is skipped and reported, rather than imported as a blank bottle. Anything in a colour column that is not recognised becomes Other, so a row is never thrown away over it.

Things that usually break an import, and do not here

What happens when you import

And the way out

Exporting your whole cellar to a CSV file is free and always available, with or without the paid unlock. The file we write is the same format we read, so it imports straight back.

This is deliberate. Locking people's own lists in is the thing they are leaving other apps over, and charging for the exit would make us the same.

Importing is free while your cellar stays within 20 wines, so a small cellar comes across before you pay anything. Going past 20 is part of the one time unlock, together with unlimited bottles and cellar statistics. One payment, no subscription.
